Triggers are useful when you want an interactive “click action” on the slide. Triggers are used when you want to make choices on a slide..
Note: You should turn off the default advance “On Mouse Click” under (2000/2003) Slide Show > Slide Transition or (2007) Animations or (2010) Transitions for all presentations with “triggers”.
To create interactive animation (Triggers):
Select the graphic or text box that will appear when an answer is clicked. Handles appear. Click on the handle (the box around it)
Add an animation to this graphic. Choose an Entrance or Exit effect as desired.
Now the graphic is listed in the (Custom) animation pane with a box and drop arrow.
Click on the drop arrow and choose “Timing.”
Click the Triggers button.
Choose the radio button for “Start effect on” and use the drop arrow to select your graphic or the item you wish to use as the trigger (a DIFFERENT ITEM to be clicked to make this item appear/disappear).
Click OK to finish the process.
Repeat as needed. The same trigger can activate multiple items. Drag the animations up/down to the correct trigger . Only ONE item in a trigger can be set to "On Mouse Click". The others should be set to "With Previous" or "After Previous"
Remember: These animations only work during the slideshow and not in edit mode.
